Dream CAst Thursday! Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
This week's Dream Cast Thursday is Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. It was originally a play by Tennessee Williams and was originally published in 1955. When developing my cast for my adaptation, I looked at the casts from the film adaptations made in 1958 and 1984 and the Broadway adaptation that came out in 2008.
The first character that I recast was Brick. He has been played by Paul Newman, Tommy Lee Jones and Terrence Howard. For my adaptation, I cast Patrick Wilson.
The next character that I cast was Maggie. She has been played by Elizabeth Taylor, Jessica Lange, and Anika Noni Rose. For my adaptation, I cast Natalie Dormer.
The last character that I recast was Big Daddy. He has been played by Burl Ives, Rip Torn, and James Earl Jones. For my adaptation, I cast Richard Griffiths.
So what do you all think? What adaptations have you seen? Who would be in your remake?

Dream Cast Thursday! Barefoot in the Park
This week's Dream Cast Thursday is Barefoot in the Park. It was originally a play before coming to the big screen in 1967.
Barefoot in the Park, the feature film, came out in 1976. The cast included Robert Redford as Paul Bratter, Jane Fonda as Corie Bratter, Charles Boyer as Victor Velasco, and Mildred Natwick as Ethel Banks.
In 2006, there was a Broadway revival of Barefoot in the Park. This cast included Patrick Wilson as Paul Bratter, Amanda Peet as Corie Bratter, Tony Roberts as Victor Velasco, and Jill Clayburgh as Ethel Banks.
In my remake, I would cast James Marsden as Paul Bratter, Rachel McAdams as Corie Bratter, Jean Reno as Victor Vilasco, and Cloris Leachmen as Ethel Banks.
So what do you all think? Have you seen any adaptations of Barefoot in the Park? Who would be in your remake? Leave your casts in the comments.

Dream Cast Thursday! Hitchcock Edition
This week's Dream Cast Thursday is coming a day early. Some of you may know that it was recently announced that a remake of the Birds is being made starring George Clooney and Naomi Watts. I was so excited to hear this, that I thought that I would do a special Alfred Hitchcock edition this week. Rebecca has already been remade many times. Dial M for Murder (A Perfect Murder) and Rear Window (Disturbia) have all already been remade, so I thought that I would focus on three other films.
North by Northwest came out in 1959. It stars Cary Grant as Roger O. Thornhill, Eva Marie Saint as Eve Kendall, and James Mason as Philip Vandamm. I would recast Patrick Wilson (Thornhill), Emily Blunt (Kendall), and Jason Isaacs (Vandamm).
Vertigo came out in 1958. It stars James Stewart at John "Scottie" Ferguson, Kim Novak as Judy Barton and Madeleine Elster, Tom Helmore as Gavin Elster, and Barbara Bel Geddes as Midge Wood. I would recast Liev Schrieber (Ferguson), Peta Wilson (Barton/Elster), Vincent Perez (Elster), and Selma Blair (Wood).

To Catch a Thief came out in 1955. It stars Cary Grant as John Robie and Grace Kelly as Frances Stevens. I would recast Clive Owen (Robie) and Kate Winslet (Stevens).
So what do you all think? Who would you recast in these films? Are there any other Hitchcock films that youall would like to recast? What do you think about the Birds remake?

Dream Cast Thursday! High Society

Today is the first official Dream Cast Thursday Blog Post. This week I am recasting High Society. It originally came out in 1956. It was a musical remake of the Philadelphia Story (which originally came out in 1940 and was an adaptation of the play of the same name).

High Society starred Grace Kelly as Tracy Samantha Lord, Bing Crosby as C.K. Dexter-Haven, Frank Sinatra as Mike Connor, and Celeste Holm as Liz Imbrie. This is one of my favorite films, and I have often thought about how I would re-cast it were I to make a remake.

I would cast Claire Forlani as Tracy Samantha Lord (in the past I haven't really liked her that much, but hey, if Dougray Scott Likes her, she must be okay). I would cast Patrick Wilson as C.K. Dexter-Haven. I would cast James Franco as Mike Connor and Cate Blanchett as Liz Imbrie.
If any of you have any opinions of the cast or ideas for future "Dream Cast Thursdays" please leave your ideas in the comments.

Bio-Pic Ideas
Okay, so my friend Brittany recently brought it to my attention how much Brad Pitt looks like Robert Redford.
So we were discussing how awesome it would be if Pitt were to play Redford in some sort of Bio-Pic (and the possible chance that Brad Pitt is actually Robert Redford's illegitimate son...yes, we know it is a long shot).
Then I got to thinking how awesome it would be if Patrick Wilson were to play Paul Newman in some sort of bio-pic.
So, does anyone have any opinions or any of their own bio-pic ideas? Please leave your comments.
