Dream Cast Thursday! King Arthur
I'm sorry that this one is so late. Things have been pretty crazy this week. For this week's Dream Cast Thursday, I will be recasting the King Arthur legend. There have been very many adaptations of this story. I looked at several adaptations when making my decisions. I looked at Camelot (1967), First Knight (1995), Merlin (1998), The Mists of Avalon (2001), and King Arthur (2004).
The first character that I recast was Arthur. He has been played by Richard Harris, Sean Connery, Paul Curran, Edward Atterron, and Clive Owen. For my adaptation, I recast Michael Fassbender.
The second character that I recast was Guinevere. She has been played by Vanessa Redgrave, Julia Ormond, Lena Headey, Samantha Mathis, and Keira Knightley. For my adaptation, I cast Anna Friel.
The third character that I recast was Lancelot. He has been played by Franco Nero, Richard Gere, Jeremy Sheffield, Michael Vartan, and Ioan Gruffudd. For my adaptation, I cast Henry Cavill.
The fourth character that I recast was Merlin. He has been played by Laurence Naismith, Sam Neill, Michael Byrne, and Stephen Dillane. For my adaptation, I cast Peter O'Toole.
The fifth character that I recast was Morgaine. She has been played by Helena Bonham Carter and Julianna Margulies. For my adaptation, I cast Polly Walker.
The last character that I recast was Mordred. He has been played by David Hemmings, Jason Done, and Hans Matheson. For my adaptation, I cast Rupert Friend.
So what do you all think? Do you like the King Arthur legend? Which is your favorite adaptation? Who would be in your remake?

Dream Cast Thursday! Hitchcock Edition
This week's Dream Cast Thursday is coming a day early. Some of you may know that it was recently announced that a remake of the Birds is being made starring George Clooney and Naomi Watts. I was so excited to hear this, that I thought that I would do a special Alfred Hitchcock edition this week. Rebecca has already been remade many times. Dial M for Murder (A Perfect Murder) and Rear Window (Disturbia) have all already been remade, so I thought that I would focus on three other films.
North by Northwest came out in 1959. It stars Cary Grant as Roger O. Thornhill, Eva Marie Saint as Eve Kendall, and James Mason as Philip Vandamm. I would recast Patrick Wilson (Thornhill), Emily Blunt (Kendall), and Jason Isaacs (Vandamm).
Vertigo came out in 1958. It stars James Stewart at John "Scottie" Ferguson, Kim Novak as Judy Barton and Madeleine Elster, Tom Helmore as Gavin Elster, and Barbara Bel Geddes as Midge Wood. I would recast Liev Schrieber (Ferguson), Peta Wilson (Barton/Elster), Vincent Perez (Elster), and Selma Blair (Wood).

To Catch a Thief came out in 1955. It stars Cary Grant as John Robie and Grace Kelly as Frances Stevens. I would recast Clive Owen (Robie) and Kate Winslet (Stevens).
So what do you all think? Who would you recast in these films? Are there any other Hitchcock films that youall would like to recast? What do you think about the Birds remake?

Dream Cast Thursday! All About Eve
For the second edition of "Dream Cast Thursday," I will be casting a remake of All About Eve. The film came out in 1950. It stars from left to right, Gary Merill (as Bill Simpson), Bette Davis (as Margo), George Sanders (as Addison DeWitt), Anne Baxter (as Eve), Hugh Marlowe (as Lloyd Richards), and Celeste Holm (as Karen).

It was really hard to recast this film, because it was cast so wonderfully to begin with. I had to not only find people that were perfect for the characters, but also people that were perfect together and were in the proper age ranges.

I chose Michelle Pfeiffer as Eve and Clive Owen as Bill. The original actors were 42 and 35 respectively at the time of filming. Pfeiffer and Owen are now 51 and 47 respectively.

I chose Rachel McAdams as Eve. The original actress was 27. Adams is now 31.

I chose Diane Lane to play Karen and Liev Schreiber to play Lloyd. The original actors were 33 and 39 respectively. Lane and Schreiber are now 44 and 42 respectively.
I made all of the actors that I recast slightly older. I felt that younger actors would not really fit in with the original story. Some of the other casting ideas that I considered before making my final decision included George Clooney, Cate Blanchett, Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon. So what do you all think of my casting? How would you all cast it? Put your ideas in the comments.
