RENT Part Two!

Last weekend, I went to Cincinnati with my mom and sister to see RENT. It was absolutely amazing! I saw the show earlier in the tour (click here to see blog posting). The tour recently came back to America after touring in Asia. I was kind of expecting to have the same experience, but the show was actually a lot different.

I was still disappointed with Lexi Lawson (no offense to her...I just don't think that she did as well as others that have taken on the role of Mimi). It goes without saying that Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal were AMAZING! We did notice during the show that Adam Pascal seemed a little off. We found out later that he was pretty sick and had a fever throughout the show (although Adam Pascal sick and with a fever is still better than anyone else...it was actually amazing how well he did considering the illness).

Justin Johnston and Michael McElroy (Angel and Tom Collins) were actually a lot better. They were really good the first time that we saw it, but I feel that there was a lot more chemistry this time. Nicolette Hart (Maureen) was absolutely amazing! She was really good the last time that we saw it, but by the second viewing, she has really made the character her own. It was really interesting seeing all of the little differences made to characters (especially by Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal). They have been doing the show over and over, but still manage to work on their characters and to improve the show. They are truly talented.
